We enjoyed a very fun and entertaining matinee at The Phoenix Symphony Holiday Pops Concert on December 7th. We followed the concert with   margaritas and dinner at Manuel's on Bell. A great way to kick off the season!

Our December luncheon was hosted by Bonnie Markham and Joanne Muniz.  It was held at the home of Bonnie Markham.  The delicious food was catered by Olive Garden and there were numerous desert options.  We also had a fun gift exchange.

We did an Arizona food tour through Scottsdale. It was fantastic. The tour guide showed us little spots that some of us had never seen before, and we had some delicious food at interesting new restaurants.

Our group just attended a candy tour and class at Cerreta Candy Co and was able to make our own chocolate pizza. Prior to the class we had lunch at the Spicery in Glendale.

Daytrippers2 traveled to Canyon Lake for a cruise on the Dolly Steamboat on October 22nd.   Everyone enjoyed the relaxing cruise and beautiful scenery.  The marina is located about 30 minutes from Apache Junction; we chose to break up the trip by stopping for brunch at Mickey D’s Cafe.  We could see why it’s a local favorite.

We took the 90 minute Nature Cruise which cost $35 plus tax, a good value.  Our noon cruise was sold out so we were glad we purchased them online in advance which was very easy.  The boat has indoor and outdoor seating on two levels.  If you have your heart set on sitting outside you should arrive well in advance.  We arrived 30 minutes early and were the last to board.  That was no problem as there is ample seating for all and we were very happy with our table inside with large, open windows.

Highly recommend the Dolly Steamboat (tickets purchased in advance) Mickey D’s for breakfast or lunch (cafe closes at 1 pm).
